Dear colleagues,
From 13 to 16 June 2023, our group participated in the ANIMMA (Advancements in Nuclear Instrumentations Measurement Methods and their Applications) 2023 conference held at the Real Collegio di Lucca, Italy.
The conference discussed a multitude of topics, including fundamental physics, current trends in development of radiation detectors, environmental and medical sciences, education, training and outreach and, of course, nuclear safeguards, homeland security and CBRNe.
The conference followed the related International summer school and workshops that we have mentioned in previous posts and was an excellent opportunity to update on the latest studies in the field of nuclear measurements and to strengthen the network of experts who are working every day to improve our understanding of radiation, radiation protection and radiological emergency management.
During the four-day conference, our own Dr. Riccardo Quaranta presented one of the radiological emergency management activities carried out by the group and Prof. Andrea Malizia, a member of the conference scientific committee and the organising committees of the international summer school and ANIMMA workshops, moderated one of the technical sessions.
Dr. Quaranta made a great presentation that has been appreciated by all the participants and received many questions from the audience. Excellent the scientific contents, the presentation as well as the verbal and non verbal communication skills that Dr. Quaranta has showed during his talk. GREAT WORK RICCARDO!
Other technical sessions were moderated and several papers were presented by the board members of the International Master Courses in Protection Against CBRNe Events, Prof. Francesco d'Errico, Prof. Susana de Sousa Lalic, Dr. Andrea Chierici, among others.
We would like to thank the organisers for giving us the opportunity to present our activities and to be part of the scientific and organisational committees. These have been tiring but certainly fruitful days.
